May 25th Urban Assault Ride

New Belgium Urban Assault comes to Portland

Don’t miss this pedal-powered urban adventure on May 25, when the New Belgium Urban Assault Ride hits the streets of Portland! In this funky Bike Scavenger Hunt, two-person teams bike to checkpoints around town, completing crazy obstacle courses at each stop. You could be racing an adult big wheel, careening down an inflatable slip n slide, doing the ‘keg walk’, or jousting on a BMX bike. The obstacle courses are different in each city so you never know what’s in store.

Before the event, www.urbanassaultride.com lists checkpoints you will have to reach during the day. There's no set route, so you and your teammate will have to strategize to pick the best course around town. Mental muscle is just as important is bike skills.

It’s a great event for friends, couples and there is also a family division where parents/guardians can race WITH their kids (ages 7-12). It’s one of the few events that parents can participate in with their kids.

The race benefits Bicycle Transportation Alliance and is followed by a huge after party with FREE BEER, great food, and live music and raffle you won’t want to miss.
