DOG RIVER SUPER D

May 28, 2023  |  Dog River Trail |  Mt. Hood, Oregon

Another year of the Dog River Super D returns! Dog River Super D or Dog River DH (yes, it used to be a DH race on a shortened course without the mile long climb) has been around since the dawn of man. We've held the race on the current course in a Super-D format since 2015. This race is a one-run race all about pinning single track as fast as you can, conquering the mid-race climb, and having a good time. Doesn't matter how fast you are, this one is just about having fun in the woods.

LOCATION

Just north east of Mt. Hood and part of the 44 trails network. We'll be meeting at the Dog River Trailhead & parking lot on Hwy 35

Please note: E-bikes are not permitted on the 44-trails network and thus, not allowed to be raced at the Dog River Super D.

THE COURSE

The Dog River Super D course consists of a fast 1-mile downhill stretch with pocketed corners, good sightlines followed by a 1-mile gradual climb.  Once you're through the climb, it's back to a mix of high speed descending with one techy rock chute (dubbed the 'The Hilary Step') and some technical switchbacks to keep you on your toes towards the end of the course.Race course stats: nearly 3000' of descending and 800' of climbing. The current course record is 22:12.

Check out the Trailforks map & description

You can also get a taste for the course by following along on a race run. (climbing section is from 2:35 to 13:30)
