Ravens ridge Recap - 2023
Location
About an hour west of Portland, off of HWY 26, Ravens Ridge trail is tucked away in the Tillamook State Forest.
This purpose built downhill trail was originally built by volunteers many years ago and now stands as a legal, shuttable downhill trail. As the raven flies, it's not a far distance from Fear and Loaming trail.
The Track
Track Length: 1.7 miles
Descent: 1,250 feet
Avg. Race Times: 4 ½ min - 6 min
The top half of the track is in the woods featuring steeper sections, plenty of roots, and some rocks. The lower half once you cross the road is in the clear-cut. It's not as steep but features wide-open fast sections, and a few crucial corners.
While the trail requires some technical riding skill, there are no mandatory features. Everything is roll-able. Any modern mountain bike will do. Most racers are riding bikes with 130-180mm travel and that's just fine.
We encourage riders to pre-ride and practice the course prior to racing. This trail is open to the public. Get some laps in and find your speed on this track before race day. Time for practice on race day will be limited.
Race Categories
We want this to be a race for all racers.
We're encouraging riders who are just looking to have fun to sign up for the 'open' categories. If you're looking to lay down a heater of a run and make the history books, sign up for 'pro'!
We offer free race entry for juniors age 9-13 years old. Racers under the age of 9 cannot race due to race insurance unfortunately.
